Off the Grid is a community gathering in Treasure Beach, Jamaica where rest, community, and creative practice come together.

Our July 2026 experience offers three ways to join depending on how deeply you want to immerse yourself. Guests can attend the Creative Wellness Retreat, extend their stay for our Writing + Youth Arts Camp, or join specifically for the Writers Camp and community programming with the Treasure Beach Women’s Group.

Whether you’re coming to recharge, create, give back, or all three, Off the Grid offers space to reconnect with your rhythm and creative practice.

The "little place with the big heart", Treasure Beach is a string of fishing villages on the south coast of Jamaica. Known as the home of community tourism, instead of chain resorts, all its properties are owned by individuals with a common goal - to support each other for the benefit of all.

The core of Off the Grid is a 6-day, 5-night creative wellness retreat designed to help you slow down, reconnect, and rediscover your creative rhythm. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be immersed in a serene beachfront setting with daily sunrise meditations guided by medicine music created by artist Geminelle, nourishing meals, and thoughtfully curated experiences that balance adventure with relaxation. Enjoy yoga and movement sessions, guided explorations of Treasure Beach, and excursions to iconic spots like Pelican Bar, all designed to rejuvenate your spirit and awaken your creativity.

For those who want to go deeper, we offer an Extended Camp Stay, adding five additional days focused on creative collaboration and community engagement.

During this portion of the trip, we’ll spend our days writing, sharing ideas, making music, and mentoring young artists through the Treasure Beach Women’s Group Youth Arts Camp.

day one

Off the Grid: Arrival & Welcome

July 9 | Guests arrive at our beachfront, poolside oasis in Treasure Beach, where private transport ensures a seamless journey to the resort from Montego Bay Int'l Airport. A warm welcome awaits, complete with a thoughtfully curated gift to set the tone for the days ahead. After settling in and enjoying the serene surroundings, we gather for a welcome dinner—a chance to connect with fellow participants and begin this retreat with shared intentions and anticipation for the experiences to come.

Grounding & Local Exploration

July 10 | The day begins with a grounding sunrise meditation, inviting participants to embrace the peaceful rhythm of the retreat. A morning at the wellness center, where guests can unwind or join a yoga/movement session is followed by a nourishing breakfast at Dawn’s. In the afternoon, we are free to roam and explore what the locals and the neighborhood as to offer. We close our day with a relaxed outing that allows us to experience the island’s energy firsthand—we step out to enjoy local nightlife and immerse ourselves in the vibrancy of Treasure Beach's locals.

Arts, Culture & Local life

July 11 | A mindful sunrise meditation opens a day of adventure. We explore Treasure Beach on a guided tour, immersing in the charm and vibrancy of local culture. After our tour, we dive into a cultural experience that invites participants to engage with Jamaican art and tradition. In the evening, we gather for our nightly reflective dinner back at the resort, sharing moments of inspiration and connection as we absorb the richness of Jamaica’s culture. The day concludes with a a reflective group dinner, where the day’s discoveries are shared, allowing everyone to connect more deeply through the stories and insights gained.

Exploration & Relaxation

July 12 | Another sunrise meditation begins our day, bringing calm and clarity. After breakfast, we set out for a beautiful experience on the ocean - an unforgettable time at the iconic Pelican Bar, perched above the waves, offering a magical setting to savor both cuisine and camaraderie. Before returning, we’ll enjoy a delectable seafood meal at a private island location, indulge in an authentic dining experience you can only have in Treasure Beach.

Restoration & Connection

July 13 | Today is all about restoration. After the morning meditation and a nourishing breakfast, guests are treated to massages and wellness sessions, deepening their relaxation. The afternoon hosts an Open House for sharing and creating amongst the group + with locals, where participants can express their journey through storytelling, art, or simply connecting with others. The retreat culminates in a bonfire dinner and Share & Tell on the beach—a celebration of new friendships, perspectives, and shared memories beneath the starry Jamaican sky.

farewells & departure

July 14 | On our final morning, one last meditation helps everyone center and reflect on their journey. A farewell breakfast brings us together once more, savoring the connections formed and the tranquility achieved. With gratitude and fond memories, guests depart feeling recharged, inspired, and reconnected, carrying the spirit of the retreat back into their daily lives. 

Transportation will be arranged back to Montego Bay Int'l Airport. Departure flight times should be after 1pm.

EXTENDED CAMP STAY

COMMUNITY & CRAFT

July 9-19 | For guests who want to go deeper, the Extended Camp Stay adds five additional days to the Off the Grid experience.

After the creative wellness retreat, participants remain in Treasure Beach to volunteer with the TB Women’s Group Youth Arts Camp, supporting local youth through music, storytelling, and creative exploration. Alongside this community engagement, guests will take part in our collective Writers Camp, working across genres - poetry, songwriting, short stories, screenplays, and more - while developing personal projects and sharing the creative process together.

Creative Exchange + Expansion

July 14-19 | For those who want to focus specifically on the creative and community experiences, we offer a Writing + Camp Only ticket.

Over five days, participants will collaborate with fellow writers and artists while also volunteering with the TB Women’s Group Youth Arts Camp, contributing to a vibrant environment of music, storytelling, mentorship, and creative exchange.

This option is perfect for writers, musicians, and storytellers who want to immerse themselves in a collaborative creative environment while engaging meaningfully with the local community. Develop and share your creative process together.

What’s Included

  • Group shuttle to and from Montego Bay’s Sir Donald Sangster International Airport.

    Arrival between 11:00a - 2:00p is suggested, it is a 3hr drive from the airport to Treasure Beach.

    We’ll need confirmed flight information, round trip, from each guest ahead of arrival.

  • Full Stay at Lashings Beach Resort in Treasure Beach, JA

    * 11 days, 10 nights for Extended Camp Stay

  • Group meals provided for breakfast (optional but suggested) and nightly group dinners with reflections

  • Check the Itinerary for our listed activities, all excursions, tours and mentioned activities are included in the retreat fee

    Treasure Beach is a 3hr drive from the airport, it is suggested you book your departure flight for afternoon the last day. (1pm or later)

What’s not Included

  • Your round trip flight from home to Montego Bay’s Sir Donald Sangster International Airport in Jamaica and back is not included.

  • Travel Insurance is highly recommended and the sole responsibility of each guest to book.

  • Your current passport must be valid for more than 6 months from the trip date

  • Most lunches and any other meals outside of Breakfast and Dinner are not included. You will be responsible for purchasing these meals.

  • There will be personal time set aside to explore as you choose, additional tours and excursions not included in the itinerary will be your responsibility

  • Additional tips and gratuities to accommodation staff, on all meals (even ones included in the itinerary), to drivers, tour guides, etc. are welcome, suggested and appreciated

FAQs & Information

    • Suggested Travel Arrangements: 

      • July 9 or 14 | Arrival in Montego Bay between 11am and 3pm. 

      • July 14 or 19 | Departure from Montego Bay later than 1pm.

    • Travel Documents: A valid passport is required and must be valid for at least 6 months after the trip ends. Make sure your passport has enough blank pages for entry stamps.

    • Visas: U.S. citizens typically do not need a visa for Jamaica, but please check your country’s requirements if you are not a U.S. citizen.

    • Transportation: We provide round-trip transportation from the Montego Bay’s Sir Donald Sangster International Airport to our destination. Treasure Beach is 2.5-3 hours travel time to the airport. Detailed instructions will be sent 15 days before departure. 

  • The retreat will take place in Treasure Beach, Jamaica. A staple town in St. Elizabeth Parrish.

    A warm welcome awaits you after your arrival in Montego Bay.

  • The retreat fee includes your room accommodations at Lashings, all scheduled meals, curated cultural and adventure experiences, transportation to and from the airport, wellness sessions + a SLAP swag bag.

    Flights, travel insurance, most lunches, tips, and personal expenses are not included.

  • We’ll be staying at a beautiful beachfront resort in Treasure Beach. Accommodations are all single rooms. The resort features a pool, ocean views, and common spaces for gathering. Each room has basic amenities and you’ll also have on-site access to a restaurant and bar, fitness center, art gallery.

  • Our itinerary balances rest, exploration, and connection:

    • Mornings: Start with sunrise meditation (optional) and a nourishing breakfast (suggested).

    • Daytime Activities: Include yoga sessions, cultural tours, and visits to landmarks like Pelican Bar. We’ll also host creative workshops and adventure outings. Time for personal exploration will also be allocated.

    • Evenings: Wind down with communal dinners and reflective conversations, plus a few special gatherings. Detailed daily plans will be shared upon arrival, but we keep some elements flexible to allow spontaneity and flow.

    • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit secures your spot.

    • Payment Plans: We offer monthly payment options, but if you prefer a different arrangement, email us at info@theslapcollective.org. Late fees apply if payments aren’t made on time.

    • 10% Discount: Get 10% off your entire trip if you pay in full at the time of the initial booking (Solo Passes only).

    • Final Balance: The final payment is due 30 days before the retreat. Late fees apply if payments aren’t made on time.

  • All payments are non-refundable. We have a 3-day Review Period after booking for you to review our Terms & Conditions and cancel without penalty. After that, payments cannot be refunded or transferred. We recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your trip.

  • Travel insurance is suggested for all participants. It covers trip cancellations, interruptions, medical emergencies, and more.

  • Pack light, breathable clothing for warm weather, comfortable shoes for walking and exploring, swimwear and water shoes, a hat, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, and any personal items like toiletries. Don’t forget your creative tools if you so choose. And your inspired self.

    A more detailed packing list will be provided before the trip.
