Poetry Write Along workshop [in a garden]

  • Tehuti Ma'at Garden 455 Ralph Avenue Brooklyn, NY, 11233 United States (map)

meet us in the garden!

we’re getting outside one last time before the season fully turns! Join us at Tehuti Ma’at community garden for another Poetry Write Along (which isn’t just for poets/writers)

(weather permitting, an indoor alternative nearby will be available)

Have you ever been to an open mic or art show and felt compelled to create right there?

In our Poetry Write Along, we’re going to harness the energy of being inspired and able to creatively express in the moment. Come let loose with word play while we engage in healthy dialogue about process of creation and expression.

Led by educator and arts enthusiast, Janelle Naomi, this workshop will be a cycle of writing and sharing as we use all of the words and ideas presented as creative inspiration to write along. Bit by bit we will share with the group how we’ve added to and evolved our writing after hearing the progression of other’s adaptations. By the end of the session you’ll have your own pieces of written art based on your interpretations and immediate inspirations.

Things to know:

  • Space is limited - RSVP for attendance confirmation and Location Address

  • Supplies for writing will be provided but feel free to bring your writing tools as preferred.

  • Shareable snacks are welcome - food and beverages

Words are the medium for the art we will create so have fun and express yourself!
